Elevate your Skills with our New Virtual Communications Courses

Diversity of faces with talking bubbles.

Health Communications Consultants, Inc. (HCC, Inc.) is proud to have guided the Carlton, Cook, Lake, St. Louis Community Health Board in enhancing their communication skills with a series of 6 communication workshops over the past 6 months.  We understood the needs of these rural, frontier and small health departments and transformed our popular interactive, expert-led in-person courses to be delivered online, making it easier to fit them into schedules and reducing time consuming travel.    We provided recordings of the training to be used for future training and allow for flexibility in schedules.  The courses were designed to equip participants with the tools and techniques needed to communicate effectively, build trust, and advocate for change.

Sarah and her team at HCC were flexible and responsive. They led 6 virtual workshops on Public Health Communications that were packed with information our staff could apply, and chances to practice new skills.

In the final course, “Face the Media”, participants had the opportunity to understand and apply their skills in a mock interview. They were able to practice dealing with tough questions and sticking to their previously developed talking points while remaining authentic and trustworthy.

The mock interviews were a great chance to put skills into action. Loved having that low-risk opportunity to practice public speaking.

The Mock Interview was awesome practice and made us have to think on our feet!

The mock interviews were really valuable–even more so, perhaps, with the small group we ended up with than the 12-15 I had hoped for! I also appreciate the competency checklists and ability to continue using recordings–I know many staff participated that way.
